slow reads digest

Slow reads digest is a colorful, electronic digest that comes in your email now and then, and never more than once a month. Exclusive author interviews give us insights into books about words, reading, or meditation. Fresh book reviews of old books may help us digest words that we may have read long ago.

Slow reads digest is for ruminants. Cattle, buffalo, and perhaps people who relish words and spend time digesting them. It may include aspiring writers or people attracted to meditation. But certainly people who wish to be more deliberate readers.

[sample slow reads digest]I really like to review out-of-print books, especially if they're unappreciated, and I'll give you ideas of where to find them on the net. (Publishers are pumping out all of these new books, and we haven't finished digesting the old stuff yet!)

We'll compare reading skills that help words sink from our heads to our hearts. And we'll examine everything "book," from strange reading habits to suggestions for the newspaper clippings you find in grandmother's old books. We'll feature unusual ways to slow down our life's frenetic pace, or at least take a break from it!

I say "we" because of my guest contributors, and because some of the articles are from other great sites that concern reading and meditation. You may wish to become part of the conversation as well, through your comments on my blog updates. Just check out SlowReads.com throughout the month. You may also explore the content of past digests there.

The digest is concise. It provides the first paragraphs of articles and other new pieces. You click below the article's digest in order to read as much of the full article as you'd like on the Slow Reads web site or another site featuring the article.

Privacy is important to us; therefore, we will not sell, rent, or give your name or address to anyone. At any point, you may unsubscribe by selecting the link at the bottom of any digest.

How to Subscribe

Subscribing is simple. Type your email address in the box in the left column of any page on the slow reads web site. You'll then be asked to type your name and to confirm your email so I can be sure you requested a subscription. Once you receive an email from me confirming your subscription, you're signed up!

In a nutshell:

· Free monthly electronic digest

· Reviews of books about meditation, reading, or slow living
· Exclusive author interviews
· Resources for nurturing the heart
· Unsubscribe at any time

Happy reading!
